Today is the day of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s world premiere in New York. It’s been almost three years since the Batman and Superman logos first merged at Comic Con 2013 for the announcement. It didn’t feel real then, and it doesn’t feel real now.
It’s like they’re snuggling…
You know what else doesn’t feel real? That Flickering Myth will be on the red carpet via Skype asking Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and Jesse Eisenberg – you know, just the small names – questions, live streamed on Warner Bros.’ website later today. Tune in and watch us lose our cool on-air.

With Batman v Superman so close to release, previously unknown details are emerging. The R-Rated cut will be a whole 30 minutes longer than the theatrical version, Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL’s full score for the movie is now avaliable to stream (it makes walking round the house very epic) and Scoot McNairy isn’t playing Jimmy Olsen, he’s playing a dude called Wallace Keefe.
The only thing known about Keefe is his wacky choice in socks.
Roles being revealed doesn’t stop at Batman v Superman in the DC Expanded Universe, though. Common has said his previously unknown character in Suicide Squad is actually one of The Joker’s henchmen called Monster T – a possible new moniker for the long-rumoured Tattoo Man – and Amber Heard has been cast perfectly in the role of Mera, Aquaman’s wife, in Justice League.

In other DC stuff, Flickering Myth’s Scott Davis has written a superb history on how Superman IV: The Quest for Peace did a Batman & Robin on the Superman character, effectively killing the character in movies for two decades. It was a different time back then. These days, he’d be rebooted in just a couple of years with Andrew Garfield in the lead role.
He’s got a history with red and blue comic book characters.
Over at Marvel, Daredevil Season 2 is now avaliable to stream on Netflix. That isn’t strictly movies, but it does tie into the larger MCU, as Charlie Cox reckons the character will be a “perfect fit” alongside the Avengers.

There has been speculation that Daredevil might get called up to the main roster for Avengers: Infinity War, especially with its rumoured 68 characters. Now, maybe, not so much. The Russos have said this week that they’ll be creating new characters for the two-parter, leaving less space for a Daredevil appearance.
At least we’ll always have Baby Groot.

In other comic book movie stuff, there’s a new X-Men: Apocalypse trailer out (which seems somewhat lost in the scuffle between BvS and Captain America: Civil War), and Todd McFarlane has made a big announcement for his Spawn movie…he’s written a draft.
